Our Experience

The Executive Committee are Volunteer Firefighters with a wealth of knowledge and experience, with a strong and focused Executive Officer and Office Administrator who have strong leadership skills and contacts that can assist the Association in their goals.

Chris O’Connell

Chris O’Connell

Born in Alberta Canada, Chris moved to the UK in 1982 when he was 11. Chris grew up in various parts of the UK. Chris served in the British army for 10 years as an infantryman gaining the rank of corporal with the 1st Battalion the Black Watch (Royal Highland Regiment). He met Maxine in Hong Kong in 1993 where they were married in 1994. They were then stationed back in the UK, and moved to Australia in 2000.

Chris lives in Tom Price and is the serving Captain of Tom Price Fire & Rescue Service and is also a member of the Tom Price Bush Fire Brigade. Chris is the Deputy Chief Bush Fire Control Officer for the Shire of Ashburton.

Maxine is Secretary of the TPVFRS and a Peer Support Officer, they have 3 children, Morgan, Callum and Declan. They have lived in Tom Price since 2000

The whole family is involved in VFRS, VBFB & Emergency Services Cadets.

Chris is employed as an Emergency Management Officer for Rio Tinto at Tom Price.

Chris & Maxine are both Juvenile & Family Fire Awareness Officers.

Chris & Maxine along with their children are committed to their community.
